Sights , Sounds and Sowing

Yesterday, we planned to work here. The okra that we sowed a few weeks ago needed weeding and I had a bucket of  turmeric to plant. It was nice to be back here, close to home. I made a start with the weeds and T forked and hoed the beds for the turmeric. It was one of those hazy, hot and humid days, so typical of the start of rainy season, that make working feel like moving through hot treacle and saps all your energy. Several visits to the shade shed were called for, to drink iced water from the flask and wipe sweat from the eyes.
Across the ravine is the neighbour's pig pen, the squeals, grunts and deep snuffling indicating their proximity.

and where this little piggy found his window of opportunity.
